Imagine a manufacturing process that requires enormous volumes of water at nearly every stage, pulping raw fibre, whether wood, recycled paper or agro-residue, washing and bleaching that pulp, and finally forming and pressing the paper sheet itself, all genuinely water-intensive steps that make paper manufacturing one of the most water-consuming industrial processes covered anywhere on this site, considerably more so than most other manufacturing categories.
