Global brand OEMs earn on their usual product margins, but now benefit from reduced import friction and, in many cases, better landed cost by routing India-market production through PLI-incentivised local EMS partners rather than importing fully-built units and absorbing licensing friction.
Cost structure: components still dominate, assembly is the smaller piece
